EVO McAvoy is near perfect. - 8.9/10
February 02, 2022

I don't write reviews often, but I absolutely love this card and I'm sure others would benefit from using it if they can get their hands on it.

EVO McAvoy just hit 96ovr and WOW. This card is the prototypical good size dman that everyone should have. He's not as big as Hedman, which means he's pretty fast, and he's not as small as someone like Jared Spurgeon which means he can still take up space and lay the body. At 6'0 208lbs, he can effectively protect the puck as well as separate an opponent's body from it. His shot may not beat Erik Karlsson's level, but he can still laser pucks from the point or even in close proximity to the net if you choose to dangle your way through the offensive zone, which this card also has the ability to do. In addition to shooting and dangling, McAvoy's 96 EVO can effectively send dishes to teammates with ease, making him quite the playmaking machine both even strength and on the PP. As far as special teams go, he's also a stud on the PK. Blocking shots on the regular, and getting his stick in passing lanes, this card has the true makings of a perfect staple on anyone's D core. I think it's fair to say that spending 250k on this card a few months back, when he was still an 88ovr, has definitely paid off in dividends.

(And keep in mind, his next goal upgrades him to a 98. He will be a true top line dman at that point, if he isn't already.)
